About Wetmore’s (Chrysler • Dodge • Jeep • Ram)

Wetmore’s is New Milford’s hometown, family-owned dealership—led today by 4th-generation owners Scott and Katie Brittingham. Our story is local, hands-on, and built around the same thing that’s kept us here for decades: treating people right and standing behind our work.

A family business with deep New Milford roots

Wetmore’s began as Wetmore’s Garage, founded by Frank Wetmore in New Milford, Connecticut. Back then, it was a used boat and car shop and gas station—built around practical service for the community. In 1930, Frank added the Willys-Overland franchise, an early milestone in Wetmore’s evolution.

Under Donald Wetmore’s leadership—from the 1950s through 1996—Wetmore’s became known for running one of the cleanest, most organized shops around. It wasn’t just about appearance; it reflected a standard of care, pride in workmanship, and respect for customers that still guides how we operate today.

From the beginning, Wetmore’s has grown through generations with the same core focus: honest service, long-term customer relationships, and a hometown dealership experience you can still feel today.

4th-generation ownership: Scott & Katie Brittingham

A defining transition came in December 2008, when Scott Brittingham Jr. graduated from the NADA Dealer Academy top of his class and officially took over as Dealer Principal. He brought fresh leadership while preserving the family values the dealership was built on.

In 2010, Katie joined the business—helping strengthen day-to-day operations and the customer experience as Wetmore’s continued to modernize.

In 2018, Scott and Jinny retired—passing the torch fully to the next generation. Today, Scott and Katie proudly lead Wetmore’s as 4th-generation family owners, serving New Milford and the surrounding Connecticut communities.
